WWDC was all about software only though there were rumors that Apple could unveil some next generation products in this event but this didn’t happen. But today we are back with some hardware news that we got from a credible source that Apple’s next generation iphone, iphone 5 or iphone 4S, is in final stage of testing. It seems like Apple’s next generation iphone, iphone 5 or iphone 4S might be launched this fall, probably September, as rumors suggest.
According to “9 to 5 Mac” Apple’s next generation iphone, iphone 5 or iphone 4S, is in final testing stage,“AP” stage, as they call it, which means that the final prototypes of the next iphone are being passed by Apple to figure out any problem, if exists. Also if Apple wants to release its next generation i-device in September, then they have to start mass production really soon.
Well other sources also suggest that Apple’s next iphone might not support 8 Megapixel camera instead it will sport the same iphone 4 camera, the 5 Megapixel.
It is also rumored that Apple’s next iphone will look pretty much like the iphone 4, but the difference would lie in the hardware. Reports suggest that the iphone 5 would come up with the A5 dual core processor. The 9to5 Mac team also discovered the references to two iphone models N93 and N94 by looking into iOS 5’s system files. It is still uncertain which phones these files relate to, but it may very well be possible that N94 is the code for the iphone 5 or iphone 4S which is powered by an A5 processor, but there is no information available about the N93 except that the model incorporates a 5 Megapixel camera.
Strangely enough, this source has also suggested that Apple’s next generation iphone might not support Facetime over 3G:
Apple and Verizon have yet to strike a deal regarding FaceTime over 3G for the Verizon network. Keep in mind that 3G and 4G aren’t the same thing.
Since it is up to the carriers if they want to support FaceTime calls ( supported by iOS 5), it seems like Apple and Verizon have not reached an agreement in regards to enable FaceTime on Verizon’s EV-DO 3G network. Sources suggest that Verizon is not interested in having over the air updates on the next generation iphone most probably because of the bandwidth constraint. But some sources says that AT&T is willing to have it. If this is true then there is a surely competitive advantage to AT&T. Lets see if Verizon changes their plans or not.
It is also being speculated that the new iphone will be a “Global phone”. If you have been reading this blog over the last few days, you are probably aware that the Apple’s next generation iphone, iphone 5 or iphone 4S will have a SIM card slot for countries except United States. It is also rumored that the iphone 5 will feature a new antenna that supports 802.11n connections could be included.
Well all these are just rumors. Apple likes to keep us guessing and while we all wait for the big release, make sure to check our blog often for more iphone 5 updates..
